Milk + Honey

What on earth is going on in the land of milk and honey (in America)! It seems random shootings, gang violence, prejudicial killings by police officers, increasing mental illness and excessive homelessness are happening. As if we needed more disasters, Covid showed up. Maybe it came to teach us a lesson. I believe Covid is an equal opportunity virus. It doesn’t care who you are … it is color blind. But some people came up with solutions for themselves; those with power and money somehow would shelter themselves from the Covid or other pandemic disasters. As a result, America is stained as of now. This country is supposed to be the envy of the whole world. Thanks to Donald Trump and the like, they brought the evil from the ground up and it is spreading ugliness like wild weeds.

             I feel that something has to be done urgently. We can’t get used to these evil acts by numbing ourselves with denial and going on business as usual. Well, this can’t ever be a normal life. I believe some kind of sensitivity and humanity training needs to be conducted before the situation gets worst. Otherwise, the entire country would go down and, who knows, the problem may even spill over to other countries. If we don’t stop the disaster, we might see a major war and who knows … this might be the end of us! 

            But it doesn’t have to be that way. If we’re determined to CHANGE the unfortunate circumstances, we can! But we need to be united for a peaceful existence. To do so, WE, high ranking, religious clergy to ordinary people, need to put our efforts together. Also, it’s crucial to teach even young children about peaceful existence and kindness. This kind of training should be part of the curricula in schools. Changing good behavior is easier at an early age since children mimic grown-ups. Maybe then we all live in harmony. No, let me correct myself. We will have a harmonious future. It’s in our hands, so let’s begin!
