Love One Another

Love one another, but make not a bond of love.

Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Fill each other’s cup, but drink not from one cup.

Give one another of your bread, but eat not from the same loaf.

Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone.

Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.

For only the hand of life can contain your hearts.

And stand together, yet not too near together.

For the pillars of the temple stand apart.

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.

The language of L*O*V*E

Witness the Great Conjunction (Christmas Star) of 2020
Telluride, CO 1:42 AM · Dec 22, 2020·IFTTT

“We’re honestly engaging in each other. We’re honestly sharing with our community, and whoever else wants to listen, we’re not closing. I don’t lock the door and we’re not cutting off any communication here and anybody who wants to tune in can tune in. That’s the language of love. We are communicating and we are trying to help each other get through it. Cause it’s still not going to be easy… Nobody’s saying if you got any sense at all. You know that what’s coming is not going to be easy.”

Nikki Giovanni, Poet and Agent Provocateur
The Breakfast Club

What is the language of love? NYC Radio personality, Charlemagne the God asked Nikki Giovanni, famed poet and agent provocateur, her definition for the language of love on his radio show, The Breakfast Club. As best as I could, I transcribed her response for the sake of this post. She responded with all the wisdom and insight that life experience can produce when a person has lived fully in one’s trUth with integrity and afforded the blessing of wisdom. During this holiday season, I mused about her response as well as other definitions of love and its varied expressions and manifestations. Similarly to the different views about spirituality and connecting to the Divine, the meaning of love can take on different hues and angles yet there seems to be a core essence that most can intuitively understand – – – and feel. At a minimum, we can all accept that L-O-V-E is an action word resulting from an alignment between the heart, mind and body for without ACTION it means nothing remaining simply another 4-letter word.

Experience the wisdom of King Lamar.

The faker you are, the bigger your circle will be.
The realer you are, the smaller your circle will be.

Do you agree?

As the world’s most recognized and celebrated holiday approaches, I hope you all find a way to experience and express this most precious and sacred emotion called L-O-V-E even if it is only to appreciate the Divine maker of humanity. It might still be a little difficult for some to forget the unbelievable revelations of 2020 but we have all endured and learned valuable lessons about ourselves, each other and this world. The trUth of the matter is that it will be difficult to unlearn what has been “unveiled” this year. Something clearly has been said! But as the saying goes – – “It’s not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters.” Life can only make you stronger and wiser if your intention is aligned with this frequency. But, it can also inspire change forcing “US” to evolve and maybe even L-O-V-E more – – authentically, fearlessly and unselfishly. After all, if Jupiter and Saturn can come into alignment to create the ‘Star of Bethlehem’ for the first time in 800 years, perhaps the universe is also signaling a divine revelation that there is still hope for US

Simply beautiful Christina!

Just a final thought  ………

Define Love

That tangible dream as perceptual touch,

the extended soul by birth anticipated so much.

Beauties fairest trade wherein all adjust itself in time,

life’s captivity for that motion fragrance to refine.

Passion as smoke and emotion glow as love’s fire,

selfless illumination become the treasure desire.

Contented with what one posses in life,

ecstasies at moments that proof that strive.

Love’s oblique by all angle create that tear,

touching a infinite generation planisphere.

Parallel individual living that us bind,

in time to gives us that rhythm to find.

Sensation and exaltation are not the same,

pleasure is the sensation to tame.

Happiness comes from divine exaltation,

and only true form of liberation.

Loving thoughts as refreshment to the mind,

love subsistence for the heart so kind.

Truth as sustenance of the soul by al might,

definition of love and its passage of rite.

Special Delivery … Just for YOU

2020 has been the year of profound upheaval and –  – change. No where is it being expressed more than via the journey by women of color who are emerging fully in their innate power with influence and authenticity. For once, it feels FREE to just BE. As a result, we all should celebrate our individual and collective journeys knowing that it has all been divinely orchestrated. Through hard work, energy and effort, women have helped impact the American story and ushered in the acceptance of new beauty standards encompassing diversity. Even recently UPS lifted a number of restrictions regarding the appearance of its employees, including facial hair guidelines and a ban on natural Black hairstyles. WOW!

Women of color have helped to champion the acceptance of
diverse beauty standards globally. Even employees wearing the
iconic brown UPS uniform can now also sport facial hair and
afros, braids, and other protective styles. Interesting right?

So, today I want to thank you for allowing me to share a little bit of my personal musings while reveling in the “unveiling” of all things divine feminine. Everyone is still learning important lessons and accepting that we are all both fabulous and flawed in this school called life. Perhaps this revelation is what makes us the most human and beautiful. Our life’s path with all the trials, relationships, losses, lovers, and successes should be celebrated. No more self pity or regret because everything served an important purpose and is as it should be. Just look around you and listen … the evidence of change is here.

Did you receive and embrace your gifts?

Real QUEENS work and train hard before wearing the CROWN.

What’s Your Next Move Queen?

As we seemingly speed through the holiday season, 2020 has been the year to cling to whatever spiritual beliefs one holds dear following the “unveiling” of America’s shortcomings. Our lives have been uprooted from the norms as the election results continue to be a source of angst. What will happen in the next 30 days before 45 leaves office has not been determined but we can all continue to expect the unexpected. If you’re like me, perhaps every small nugget of normalcy was just enough of a reminder to still be grateful for life and the opportunities to spend quality time connecting with one’s tribe – – even if only through Zoom. Within a double-minded country completely“unveiled” (some even describe “US” as “jacked up” beyond recognition), there are still small moments of insight and peace too precious to dismiss. So, keep your eyes on your own blessings and opportunities no matter how small and seemingly insignificant. For me, simply co-creating with spirit – – ישוע  – – and having peace of mind is more than enough – – indeed.

Which side will win in the end?

VERSUS BATTLE

Meet the “Predator Killer” ready and wiling
to enforce justice. Ok, maybe not for ALL but …

Yet, there can be no doubt that an intricate chess game is taking place within our democracy. And, the stakes are much too serious to proceed business as usual even after the Biden/Harris administration assumes leadership in 2021. Let me now state what everyone, especially my tribe, must be thinking at this moment in time. Something has been said! It has been a year of revelations, retribution, exposure, unraveling, payback, comeuppance and judgement. Wow! A societal reckoning entered our country like a “predator killer” with a two edged sword ready to strike the unjust, unlawful and even the innocent without preferential treatment and regardless of privilege. It still seems unbelievable even though most can clearly sense the energetic sickness within the minds and hearts of some just below the surface (not talking about COVID-19 here).

What is your next move?

During the holiday season, we may be challenged to stay hopeful and “prayed up” expecting positive outcomes while reviewing the lessons and blessings clearly visible in everyday life and hiding in the shadows. A tribe member recently reminded me of this poignant point. The couple sent a video of their beautiful daughter taking her first few steps. She was so cute while awkwardly steading herself before taking each movement but her efforts were still done with such focus and determination. It reminded me that even during a crisis, life still happens in small incremental movements. While we must all stay abreast of events in our country, we each have an obligation to live fully as humans – – using steady, calculated movements – – to connect to others, love and participate in this game called life. Nothing is guaranteed so think strategically about each move and consequences until the win or loss (vision) is undeniable.

Win or lose – – Tis the season to learn lessons, embrace accountability and practice gratitude.

Mind Programming B – – 4 – – 9

As I looked at the current state of our educational indoctrination system, I pondered about the timeframe when humans are most vulnerable to inaccurate information about themselves, others and the world. The revelation or “ahah” moment occurred when I was reminded about the receptivity of children between birth and seven years old particularly when their right brain is most active but their left brain (including critical thinking) is not yet fully functional. It is during those formative years that the subconscious “mind programming” naturally occurs. This is ground zero when young, innocent and impressionable children take on faulty or limiting beliefs systems that will influence them into adulthood. The fears of a parent or teacher will be absorbed without question. Hurtful words from an ill informed, racist, cranky or tired parent or educator will not be filtered for accuracy packing a punch so powerful it if often difficult to “unlearn” later in life. Since a child’s critical mind only develops from around the age of eight, whatever they hear, see, and feel goes directly into the subconscious mind without analysis and is accepted as fact. These beliefs were instilled into YOU and ME unwittingly by your parents and educators when our minds were still malleable and unable to to use discernment.

“Give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man.”

Aristotle, Greek philosopher

As you might infer, one of my favorite classes during my teaching experience was the study of neuroscience and how the brain learns. Upon birth, a million neurotransmitters are firing and wiring as connections are being made so rapidly it it hard not to compare the human brain to the most advanced computer system imaginable. It is during this time when children are most able to learn and absorb an enormous amount of information primarily via the dominate right brain (auto function, fight or flight response through the amygdala, subjective senses, imagination, creativity, memory and intuition etc.) because their left brain (reason, decision making, willpower etc.) is still developing. Before the age of seven, they have limited logic or inhibitory processes and are not able to filter stimuli with an assessment for trUth or accuracy which is why we often refer to young children having the ability to absorb experiences like a sponge as connections are made every minute.

Neurons firing and wiring …

Educators have known the importance of this timeframe in the development of young children via countless research about early childhood education including the importance of Pre-K. Children are not “miniture-adults” as some adults may state jokingly because their brain’s ability to reason and comprehend is too underdeveloped. Their beliefs are formed from what they feel, see, hear and experience and their critical thinking skills are not intact. Children do not have the capacity to question the subconscious “mind programming” taking place, often by adults with good intentions, and will be affected by it (95% influence) well into their adult life. Suggestions and perceptions about “others” (including learned helplessness) develops within the subconscious minds of children in every family, and will be accepted as trUth becoming a part of the belief system. Research even suggests that the human brain isn’t fully functional until early 20’s which explains a lot about the progression in maturation. Clearly, the study of neuroscience and how the brain learns is extremely important in developing a modern educational indoctrination system. Understanding attachment styles – – a child’s early relationship with caregivers  – –  also sets the stage for how they will build future relationships navigating what it means to be fully human as well.

Norman  Rockwell – The Problem We All Live With

Meet Ruby Bridges. Her mother, Lucille Bridges, altered the course of
history – –  impacting so many lives  – – by setting her 6 year old daughter
on a difficult but honorable path to integrate a segregated New Orleans
public school in 1960. Just imagine the neurons firing and wiring within
Ruby impacting her future and each person watching her bravery.
Mind programming begins early and has the potential to change an entire system.

Perhaps, if we the people (teachers, parents, stakeholders alike) could all do just enough to attune to our children in a healthy way by providing a safe, stimulating environment for learning along with balanced empathy and compassion, their neurons would wire and fire in such a way as to bring forth humans with a capacity to freely think for themselves – – triggering a respect for their uniqueness with a commitment for life long learning. This may sound naive, redundant or even aspirational in nature but we know from neuroscience that neurons that fire together, wire together. We can alter the subconscious “mind programming” within the educational indoctrination system to reflect a more accurate representation of trUth mixed with reason and empathy shaping the mindset of the next generation. After what we’ve experienced in 2020, I’m still feeling hopeful  – – choosing to embrace the idea that love and courage, along with a solid commitment to changing and strengthening our educational indoctrination system for all – – will allow us to create a Nu world for the better. Ultimately, the final outcome will be determined by “US” – –  one neuron firing and wiring at a time.

Mind Programming with neurons wiring and firing …..

Perhaps it sounds like this. Oh my …

On Love

Then said Almitra, Speak to us of Love.

And he raised his head and looked upon

the people, and there fell a stillness upon

them. And with a great voice he said:

When love beckons to you, follow him,

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to

him,

Though the sword hidden among his

pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in

him,

Though his voice may shatter your dreams

as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he

crucify you. Even as he is for your growth

so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and

caresses your tenderest branches that quiver

in the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and

shake them in their clinging to the earth.

                                       •

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto

himself.

He threshes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

     He grinds you to whiteness.

     He kneads you until you are pliant;

And then he assigns you to his sacred

fire, that you may become sacred bread for

God’s sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you

that you may know the secrets of your

heart, and in that knowledge become a

fragment of Life’s heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only

love’s peace and love’s pleasure,

Then it is better for you that you cover

your nakedness and pass out of love’s

threshing-floor,

Into the seasonless world where you

shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,

and weep, but not all of your tears.

                                      •

Love gives naught but itself and takes

naught but from itself.

Love possesses not nor would it be

possessed;

For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say,

“God is in my heart,” but rather, “I am

in the heart of God.”

And think not you can direct the course

of love, for love, if it finds you worthy,

directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfil

itself.

But if you love and must needs have

desires, let these be your desires:

To melt and be like a running brook

that sings its melody to the night.

To know the pain of too much tenderness.

To be wounded by your own under-

standing of love;

And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

To wake at dawn with a winged heart

and give thanks for another day of loving;

To rest at the noon hour and meditate

love’s ecstasy;

To return home at eventide with grati-

tude;

And then to sleep with a prayer for the

beloved in your heart and a song of praise

upon your lips.

I Felt The Sunlight

Along the long, long corridor I go on walking . . . —Before me there are dazzling windows, on either side, walls reflecting the light. The sunlight and I, I’m standing with the sunlight. —Now I remember how intense that sunlight is! So warm it stops me from taking another step, so bright I hold my breath. The light of the whole universe converges here. —I’m unaware of the existence of anything else. There is only me, leaning on sunlight, still for a full ten seconds. Sometimes, ten seconds is longer than a quarter of a century. Finally, I dash down the stairs, push open the door, and run in the spring sunlight . . .
